although the ease of turning your pump is not a definitive way of telling of its condition as the only accurate way to do this is to disassemble and examine the pump. that said it is more normal for the pump to spin easly, usually by hand if it has been well worn. on the parts issue, most all with the exception of the early ja, the shafts and impellors and most parts will interchange with most models. assume nothing and check your clearances when changing ANY parts.
