    You should get a little more RPM then that. I agree with the timing being a little retarded. I have a 78 Challenger with a 429 Ford and when it was stock minus Bassets, Intake carb etc it did 61 mph with a Dominator jet. Like the guy mentioned before it was popular for people to stick a dumpy cam in them with an idle to 4200 powerband. Nice boat. Upgrade the Valvetrain if anything on the motor.

    i have a 76 hawaiian with a pretty much stock 460 turns 4000 all day at 55 mph ishhhhh so your very close get a goos set of heads and you will get about 50 more hp just from bolting them on good luck and keep it shinny side up

    sounds like yer pump is good! the 460 must be a tad sleepy though.

    the stock heads are like dayquil lol i built a pretty much stock 460 for a friends stang and he got about a 46 hp gain to edlebrocks and the were the rpms go to p51 heaDS and your looking at a whole diffrent beast but as its been said over an over fords are more $$ but i build them cus i love fords
