    My searay jetboat wont start

I was out tubing with the kids. My one son wasnt watching the rope and it was sucked into the grate. We were towed back by a neighbor. I pulled the boat and was anle to get out the rope. We relaunched, the starter would turn but the mercury motor wont start. Battery finally went dead. Is there any kind of safety breaker that may have tripped? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

I don't know if it varies from year to year, but my '98 Sea Rader with V6 175 jet doesn't have a manually operable enrichener, primer, or ckoke. It is a carb motor, but it chokes itself.

Some Mercury sportjet setups wont self prime depending how the fuel system is plumbed in. I know my boat has a primer bulb in the feed line to help when you run the system dry. That may be worth checking altho I cant see how that would be related to your ski rope issue.

Im not 100% sure which engine you have but the only thing that I can think of that may be related to a sudden engine jamming/stop is a broken keyway which allowed the flywheel to move possibly throwing off the timing. This will depend on which motor you have of course.

A bit more info would probably help us.
