    Hot Honda

Has anyone hopped up a Honda yet. Custom camshaft?(Or do they use solenoids for valve opening?) Been thinking about how much power you can get out of the honda auto engines. I would think we could take some good ol 4-stroke performance knowledge and put into these 4-stroke outboards. I guess it would be cost prohibitive. Just thinkin out loud

In my opinion, it would be tough, unless you could bore and stroke it and really bump up its CID. The hopped up Honda car motors relied on revs, compression, or forced induction to get the HP.

Now when someone figures out how to hang a turbo on a 4 stroke, then I am going to look at it real hard. Seems like that would be the way to go, because the cooler the water, the more boost you can run.

    ???

What about some custom grind camshafts and some head work?? Seem to me like that would do the trick????

it would change the power band but truthfully any engine piece for vhe v6 accord will fit in the 225.... so i see no reason to not do some work that would build gains.... the issues would be prop tuning to accomidate for the changes in power band..

from working on the hondas the only hurdles i see would be being able to write maps for the engine and if doing a FI setup to machine or modify the exhaust mans to accept a turbo. the exhaust on those engines once you get past the intermediate plate are just down pipes. you might be able to modify the mid get some exhuast from there through the side to a turbo.
