    motor mounts

    how do you install motor mounts on a 83'2.0 l ? i don't know how.i want to learn.

    bottom ones are pretty easy. just remove old ones and install new ones. top ones will need the powerhead removed and exhaust plate split to get to the mounts. you will need gaskets also. best would be to get a good manual for this.

    I changed mine

    a while back on my 2.4...couldn't get them to stop dripping ....had to pull apart and put a small amont of RTV in there to get it to stop.....get a manual though if you haven't done it before...Good luck

    motor mounts

    i've got a lifting ring and a cherry picker.i'll order a cd rom from e-bay.i've pulled a couple of johnson power heads before.reason i asked was i thought i could just unbolt those motor mounts,disconnect the wires and cables and such from the power head,and lift the motor right off the clamp.then i could rebuild the steering shaft and put the new motor mounts in while putting everything back together.thats why i asked about the mounts so i could throw something out there and get some tips and tricks on the best way to do this project.
