Yep, turns a 28 Raker2 at 5950-6000 rpms with a full fishing load, add a partner and his gear and it will still pull 5800... Not bad for a fishin boat with an 1850lb bare hull weight...

Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! You got that right. Even ones opinion will get crushed by someone on this site. Its very hard to help on this site. Ask Pyro, he got the short end of the stick trying to help. I dont understand why people would rip on those trying to help others. Egos maybe????

The biggest issue with the BRP motor is a lower unit that stays together when you surface a prop.

Not sure if they have fixed that lately, but that is the weak point from what I have seen.

The E-tec's I have seen on the water are dead silent at idle. They have kind of a deep sound. Everyone I spoke to with one has had nothing but praise for them.

I love my ETEC so much I bought a second one. I also talked a friend into getting one and he has been happier than happy as well.

The gearcase problems have been addressed some years ago with the L2 gearcase. Absolutely, once & for all. In addition they are right up there on efficiency despite not having low water pickups. A friend of mine on this forum has just run 101.3mph with a dead stock E-Tec 250HO on an STV @ 5950rpm with very strong water pressure. Thay are an incredible engine.
