    prop question on my mirage

    i am running a 200 carb merc on a 18' mirage ski racer heavy layup. 8 inch set back , bob low water pickup with a extremely fat ear 14 3/4 X 30 pitch chopper. turning it 6200 and running 94 mph. currently running 1 click over the bottom.

    questions::

    How much higher can i go up on the jackplate?
    Will my cle run different then my bobs as far as height in the jack plate?
    Should i cut my prop down to a 14 1/2 X 30?

    I wanna get more rpm and run a little more mph. Very happy with it now but i would like to push 100 mph. Thanks for the help.... Eric B.

    I am 2 inches further back so from what I am hearing I can go 3/4 above bottom safely. 6" back I would 1/2 above the bottom. The rev limiter on mine was 5800 but I did away with that system and went to a 16 amp system. ( no limiter)

    By my self I can go higher but when i put someone else in the boat it starts to step out your numbers look good.Start raising the motor and watch your water presure.I think your going to need some more HP if you want the 100mph club be carefull.
