I don't know if this helps but my XB 2003 has 13 " and I have heard of 14 " on some . I have had it to 90 but never held it on long enough to see what it has . Always lots of stuff and gas in the boat .

I'm sure you are familiar with the Allison Owners board? I hang out there on occasion and have read many posts on setback etc. and they sound extremely knowledgeable. Give them a look see.

For some reason, the more horsepower the less setback [to an extent]. The 225s are running 10-14 and a lot of the 260s/280s are running 8". Your 20 " mid need less setback than my 15" does. Use only as much setback as it takes to make it easier to drive since more setback seems to hurt holeshot.

Randy years ago we had three of them all running 8" of set-back. Now, depending on the weight in the frount of the boat...heavy trolling motor, fishin' stuff, etc....you probably need to go back another 2". All three boats were running 2.4L motors..two hi-po motors and one stock 200. Hope that helps. Mike T.

From what I can remember, it ran somewhere around 85+ BUT! the guy who owned it owned stock in Bass Pro Shop I think from all the $hit he carried with him anytime he had the boat out! Both the boats that had the hi-po 2.4's on theirs...both down draft oval ports...ran mid 90's.
