115 HP Alarm
1997 115HP Mercury - took her out for a spring shakedown and console alarm is sounding when in "run" poisition, started on first start cycle - engine runs OK - tone fluctuates up and down - plenty of oil and the motor is pumping water - did notice that fuel gauge is inoperable, "shorted?"
The few threads I've found all point to oil and'or over temp - any ideas?

With the engine off the alarm should not sound with the exception of the self diagnostic beep when first turned on. Sounds like a short somewhere. Could be a bad oil warning module.
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
