Berkley Jet
I've got a line on a complete Berkley J 12 a h pump for $250. the pump looks in really good shape and still has the hull from the boat that it was mounted on attached.
I guess the owner wrecked the boat and this guy bought it for the motor but has no use for the pump.
Is there anything I need to check?

Take it apart and look inside at the impellar and the veins in the bowl. Check the wear ring and make sure the shaft isn't bent. 250 with intake is a decent buy. You can send it to Berkley and have it rebuilt to factory spec's, and you will be into a fresh pump for under a grand. New ones are 4k and a good used one would run close to 2k.

I looked inside through the top cap and the impellor looks fairly clean and the blades don't seem to be in bad shape. This came out of a running boat that the guy crashed so hopefully it won't need a rebuild.
Does berkley make bolt on trim units for these pumps?

berkeley is a now a division of cp performance, they vend the place diverter which can be bought direct from place diverter and many other marine dealers, aggressor jet drives and american turbine also have units that fit the berkely and most every brand.
