    2000 merc 200 hp (carbed )rev limit ?

    what is the rev limit set for this engine? Is it user changeable or can be disconnected from engine by disconnect of wire ??

    The rev limit is 5600. You have to send the brain out for re-programming to defeat the rev limiter, or swap brains. One option is:

    CDI Electronics
    866-423-4832 ext. 211

    I have not used these guys, but I did price it out once.

    I understand carbs, not EFI, but there is still a rev limiter. Sorry for calling it a brain. The EFI motor has an ECU. I don't know how the carb motor is rev limited, but I got a quote to remove it
