    09 Cummins fuel mileage?

Does anyone know about the 09 cummins diesel's fuel mileage, I heard it is way down is this true ?. I was thinking the person I talked to might have some wild gears in it? I have a 05 now and was thinking of getting a 2010 because of the new body design, and the fact I have almost 80,000 miles on it and after 100,000 no one wants to give you anything . Thanks jj

Yep, stick with the older ones.
When you do the math now and factoring the fuel cost difference their is little difference in cost per
mile between them and the big gas motors. Except the cost of the diesel engine option is far more.

I'm going to look at a F350 V-10 crew, long bed, dually tomorrow that the owner said gets 10 towing and 13-14 typically.

Yup, diesels are not an economical option for a pick up anymore unless you have 7500lbs or more behind it daily. Even buying used it is still difficult to justify the added cost of a diesel unless you are using it daily to tow.

Keep the 05 till it's got 300K on it. Pre-07 emisions junk. The Cummins will make it that far w/ proper upkeep.
