I checked the thermostat and it was stuck open.. i ll replace it this weekend once i get back in to town and see if it makes a difference

Check the new one before installing it.
That is a cheap fix, if that is all that's wrong.

good find!! definately throw the new one in a pan of water and bring it up to temp on the stove... check the crack and full open temps, just so you know
