When I first met Lilabner, he was about 5'10 and 125 lbs. He was one of the best, if not the best Mercury mechanic in S. Florida. He went into the Marines and served in Nam as a kid and came back as a man. I'ts the same guy in a different body.
I have alway been proud to claim him as a friend!

Finished the GCM with one or the other SEEROY boys.

I remember looking at the results from several GCMs last year.
Seeroy and I finished within seconds of each other in one leg and Bill and I finished within seconds in another leg!

I sold a Holt Craft about this time, with a 20H. Wonder if it's the same boat?

    Pelican Harbor Yacht Club

The PHYC struggled to keep the race alive after the last race in the ICW 1966. They ran it in Biscayne Bay, Marine Stadium, and the last GCM was at the Pelican Harbor 4.4 mile course in 1973. Gone, but not forgotten, for a bunch of us OLD- - - -'s

The PHYC 4.4 mile course. It appears PHYC couldn't decide what year to have the 20th Annual/Anniversary

Does anyone remember Tommy Stearns (spelling?) in Fort Lauderdale in the 50's, the Mercury dealer on the North Fork of New River?

Steve---I really don't know. Cute little guy, does anyone recognize him??? The helmet, he must have belonged to a racer?? I look at this picture---my mom and dad by my left ear---the guy in the flowered shirt--could that be Lew Kohler? (Charlie, you knew Lew). 263 boats!!----look at all the airboats, could you imagine anything like that happening today????
