For those with G-W Invaders, please read!
Hello, I just got a 15' G-W and have a few questions!!!
What motor is a good choice for this boat?
I've talked to a few of my friends who have boats and have gotten a wide range of ideas, everything from 70hp-140hp.
What are you guys's thoughts?
Also is there anything tricks with these boats I should be aware of?
Like set backs, steering options, fuel tank placement, things of that nature!
I'm very new to boats, and would like to hear from people who have owned these!
I have a few friends who are extremely good with boats willing to help me with this, and they said to find people on here who have experience with these boats for tips & tricks!!!
Thanks
Bruno

Please post some pics!!! These boats are not very common in that length. Check out the one I am restoring in my signature. I will be powering it with the 1969 merc 1250 (125 hp) That it originally came with, it used to run in the low-mid 50's with a long shaft and no jack plate. I have since mounted the power head to a 15" mid and will be using a jack plate in the future, and turning a chopper of size yet to be determined. Welcome to Scream and Fly, you will find everything and more that you ever wanted to know about boats, old and new.

I have a 1970 G.W. Invader looks similar to gw1250's but my cap is different.
I run a 1974 J block 150 with 4 inches of set back and up a tad ( gotta keep some secrets ) last year it ran better than 77 on GPS. Keep weight low and to the back as much as you can. Laker on here has a buddy running one with a 140 OMC that runs real good too, might want to pick his brain.
Thanks for the compliment Matt

Thanks guys!
A friend of mine recomended a 85hp V-4, would that be too underpowered? My other friend said a 140hp X-flow?
And are these boats able to run with two bench seats (say 4 people two being kids)?

your is exactly like mine, I also straightened and sharpened the last 3 feet of mine. They are very fun boats and draw a lot of attention when out running.
