Any time I fly commercial, I carry my old Garmin EMAP with me since it has a remote suction cup antenna that I can stick to the aircraft's window. That way I can see our speed, altitude and what cities we are passing over along with a true ETA.
Two weeks ago we were traveling to Lake Tahoe and a guy on our flight had a seizure. We had to make an emergency landing and no one knew [including the flight attendents] where, except for me who could see we were going into Amarillo Texas.

The EMAP and Ipod gives me something to do since commercial flying is so boring. I got the remote antenna from West Marine.
