welcome, there should be a peace of stainless steal on the front of the pump where the engine conects that will tell you what model pump and impeller so ya that should help you with that as for the water plumbing idk i havent had to be that far into my pump yet best of luck dude

cvx20,
Good luck with the new engine. Iam rebuilding my pump right now with new A2 impeller wear ring bowl bushing and shaft seal. Next winter I plan on rebuilding the engine I would like to bump up the hp some.
Then go through the rest of the pump with the engine out. And yes the classic glastron site is great I found a wealth of info there.Last edited by 78cvx20; 02-25-2009 at 03:18 PM.

yup i just rebuilt my pump also. all new seals bearing. the new wear ring was a stainless with a rubber/plastic insulater. diffrent then what was in there.. i also went to an A2 impeller but i am starting to question if i am going to have the horsepower to turn the rpms that i am going to want.

Just joined here, sounds like there are a few Carlson fans out there. Live in lower Mi. have a stock '78 and a '77 that I've had since new with a 514 stroker motor. 32 years later that boat is still fun!!
