When I was in the Navy ( in the 60's) on a destroyer tender, we had a can (destroyer) tied up behind us at Norfolk that was getting underway. The captain was too proud to use harbour tugs to pull him off the pier against the current, and tried to do it with ship's power. Somehow the engine room got mixed up and had both screws going flank forward for a few seconds. We got about a 12 foot hole in the laundy room. Ticked us off because 1. They wiped off the brand new bow rail we had put on the can. 2. We were getting underway the next morning to go to home port (Charleston), and we had to do a lot of welding on our a$$ before we could go.
To fish or not to fish? What a STUPID question.

Probably the same jerk that hangs out around here in a 32 foot sundancer. I'm gonna punch that guy next time I see him.
