I would start with a carb rebuild...but if it's popping back though the carb it's more likly a timing issue.what year is it

I think its a 1992 its got about 10 hrs on it from what im told. I ran great last fall before i put it in the boat, the first time i started it in the boat it ran decent too, it ran good for about 15 min then it started to run like it is in the video, Ill take the carb apart and clean it tommrow and also take the tank out and clean that while im at it. Its not popping through the carb, just the exhaust

check your plug wires and then your timing you may have gotten some of that white crap on the ground in it too........

also did you drain all the water out of it the last time??? if not yo may have an issue ARF knows nothing about....like a frozen block which isn't good

It does not sound like a carb issue from the video. It sounds to consistent. Pull your rocker covers and look for a bent pushrod on the exhaust valves. 454's are notorious for that. Then if all are ok I would pull all of the plugs, run a compression or leakdown test. If the compression is good, test your plugs and ignition system.

First thing I would do is realize its a Cheby motor and learn to live with it!

(If you havent messed with timing seems like a valvetrain issue)

I will check the compression and do a leak down tommrow. I cleaned the carb and changed the remote filter, and put fresh gas in it, It runs pritty good once it starts.... I dont think the hard starting is the motors fault, I think I just dont know how to start it, I always seem to flood it. It dosent pop any more either and I havent messed with the timing since my timing light went for a drink in the test tank and has not worked right since.

check plug wires 5 and 7....... it sounds like its a serious ignition delay and then a firew whil exhaust is open.... ill bet a wire got crossed at the plugs or distributor its definatly sounding like valve train or timing tho.. and holy crap that sounds like chit..
