THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PICTURES. I just bought a Vi King and ran is last weekend and was lucky to get back to the trailer befor it sank. When I pulled it out there was over 2 inches of water on top of the floor. Under the boat just inside of the wooden board the boat sits on on the trailer was a hole about 1 1/2 inches and a piect of cloth stuck out funneled water in. The hole is 5 inches in front of the drain hoole and 13 1/2 inches to the starboard side. I drilled a 1/2 inch hole in the floor and hit wood and the part the drill pulled out was wet. I did not go all the way through. Then I drilled a 1/2 inch hole in the hole in the bottom. There has been water sipping out sence last Sunday. From your pictures it looks like I should drill another hole in the transom of rather at the rear of there the step starts about an inch or so above the bottom. Maybe I could get whatever water is in there out that way. Any suggestions would be more that apperciated.
    Thanks again

Over the years Hydrostream built these boats so many different ways, every one is a little different. Take some photos and start a thread and post the pics. With all the glass wizards on here it should be no problem to get the advice and help you need. You are allready on the right path. Gotta be dry to glass it...Grind it out from the outside of the hull and see how extensive the damage is. Hate to say it, but, the boat may need the floor pulled up to be able to check the core and stringers. And also to glass the backside of the damaged area..

the seller of my boat said the wood had been replaced. I can't tell if it has. Do you think it would be ok to drill a hole in the bottom of the front of the area where the drain plug is? I tapped with a nhammer and I did notice ad ares from the holw back 5 inches to the tail of the bosy the rest sounded ok.
I got to run it for about 30 munites and I just love this boat. It is a pure hot rod and it screams.

Primerate- It may be possible to lower the nose of the boat to allow the trapped water to drain foreward. Once drained from the rear, the water should go to the keel area.and then drain out the existing drain hole...Really need some pics to see what yer working on.

Hippie.. Thanks for the good words. After painting this design, i'm not really all that satisfied with the way it looks. Its hard to have a really original design. I was trying to put some muscle car looks on a boat. After all the parts are installed, it may look better. Windshield really helped to bring it together. If it runs out as expected, it won't matter what it looks like anyway....At 90- 100 mph little things like paint all become very unimportant. Keep working on yours, and it will eventuall get done. The rear deck is definately an improvement over the original splashwell.

Thanks, J.P. It looks good to me also. I'm just one of the nuts that second guesses all decisions that have been made.. It really comes down to the individual persons likes and dislikes. I had some more intricate paint ideas and kind of decided that it was time to get some paint on it and get on the water. Been working on this boat on and off for several years. It's solid and will last forever. The paint job will do for now... Just wanted to have a boat that is different than all the others...I just don't look at it and say WOW! On it's first trip, when I run it to wot, then i'll be saying WOW, this is one fast stream! These boats are really just a thrill ride, on the water..
