New to the board (pics inside dial up beware!!!)

Hey guys new here on S&F but have been reading on here for quite awhile.
Just thought id post some pics of my '87 Jet Boat Engineering/Firehawk Performance TX-19 cause i know you guys like pictures and a small tid bit of info about it............BBC,Dominator pump set back 6 inches, Race weight hull 330#'s and alittle nitrous just for starters. I also used to have a '75 taylor SS (first jet boat)that i rebuilt/restored from the ground up- buuuuuuuutttttt it could'nt fullfill my need to go faster so i parted with it and got the TX. I've also been currently building my first O/B boat but ill get around to that at a later date. -Caleb-

The tx the day i brought it home from kansas

    The BBC

    at Texoma this summer

A couple of the Ol' Taylor during build and finished at the lake

Looks good. I'm kinda parcial to the SS though
I am changing out the pump on my SS from the old JE berkely to a American Turbine SD-312 which is a 4" outlet insted of the 3" on the JE.

Its a 496. It was actually originally in the Taylor, But i changed the camshaft and stuck it in the tx and gained 15 mph with out touching the setup on the tx. I wish now i still had the taylor with the real muldane 454 i stuck in it after i got the tx because i had more fun with it then than the 750+ hp pump gas 496. It was just a good cruise around the lake and pull skiers and tubes with.

drag'n fever AWESOME SS I first saw it over on the taylorboats forum. One of the fastest SS out there i imagine-hard to make one those go fast. Mine had the common taylor porpise syndrome; I took the hook outa the bottom and played with shoe and ride plates but at about 73mph it would start porpising and it just turned me off. All it took was to go 90mph in another guys Youngblood and that is all it took to convince me. My TX-19 never does it no matter how the setup is or divertor position.
Have you seen pics of the Taylor SS with twin 460's and berkley's supposedly run mid-high ninty's with not much over stock engines/pumps

Havent seen that one. How did he keep it floating with two BBF, wow.
It took a little work to get mine in the upper 80s but with the new pump it should be alot quicker out of the hole and shooting to break 100 on top end. This new pump is massive. Will post some progress pics soon.
Trim tabs on the transom of mine got rid of all porposing and made it alot more enjoyable to just cruise around on.

You know they make spacers for the truck blocks between the heads and the intake so you can use any bbc intake. my dad's friend had a 427 truck block with 454 crank welded and offset ground, a certian rod/piston combo and and it was like a 513ci or 518ci some thin like that and used the spacers for the intake. Ill ask him some time when he comes back to work from being sick. He also had one with a 1/2 plate doweled on top of the deck, bored and sleeved, stroked and was like close to 600ci back in the 80's.

#325 as cast. if i would have just saved another $1000 i would have bought a set of CNC #315 AFR's. The velocity on the 315's is so much higher than the 325's that they'll make another easy 50hp and lots more more torque at alittle lower rpm which is better for jets.
