Yet another newbie with a few ?s
Hey guys, Ive been lurking around here for a little while now, and this is my first post. I got ahold of a rogers bonneville jet, 454 bbc and berkeley pump. Sat for 5 years with a block full of water in central pa, so its a project. Yes I know jet boats are a money pit haha. My first question is, is there a website or anything to help me figure out what model pump this actually is? And are these jet pumps something that a guy with decent mechanical knowledge can rebuild? And if so, whats some good upgrades? Im not looking for face peeling speed, just something thats going to be reliable and work good. Im planning on building the motor to about 500 HP if that helps. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

well ya got a good one to build.most of those came with Berk.12 jg or 12jc. be sure to build engine to have lots of torque! I would run a solid roller cam from Herbert they are alot better price than the rest.a good one is the CBH2 WORKS VERY WELL IN A PUMP GAS 454. last one i built with this cam and 990 iron heads with 10.5 comp
850 Holley and MSD ign.made 540 hp.I would think that if boat and pump is set up right it should run around 75 to 78 mph. Let me know if i can give ya any help.
