prop comparison

looking to get away from high pitch prop,280hp merc on a grandsport came with a 30p chopper sheared the driveshaft off at the splines, i am not looking for top speed or racing i just enjoy boating,heard alot about labbed et's slinging blades so want to stay away from them, would like opinions on a 26p bravo 1 4blade,thanks

i think whipper on this board has had pretty good luck with a trophy and maybe some hydromotive props. is your prop a chopper II or an a5 chopper

You could always drop gear ratio and go with a smaller pitch.

the gear ratio is 1.87 with this can i run a 26p prop?

the boat is an allison 2004 grandsport elite with a 2001 280hp merc

A 26 will put you around 90 mph at 75-7600 rpm. Four blade Trophy props are good for all around running.

the trophy's diameter is 13 3/4 the bravo 1 is 15 1/4 which would be the better both at 26p?

The bravo does'nt work as well on a smaller boat. I like the Drag Four myself.

the trophy is the best choise. there's a 28" and the 4 blades will soften the chime walk some.

The mazco RE4 is a good all around prop. I'm also have success with the 4-blade txp.
