'99 Evinrude Ficht 150's and VSR
Planning on doing a little rewiring of the boat in the off season and was wondering if I can use the BEP VSR(717-100A) with the Ficht's.

72 views and no one can give any advice if it is okay to use a battery switch cluster with a voltage sensitive charging relay?

the manual prolly wont have any info relating to that, the 99 year model's had a diff vr on the 225's, the 150's may as well, i would think that a vsr may not play well with the vr on the fichts though, my 225's have an additional post for a 2nd batt charge circuit, i can tell ya that a blown vr on those models is very costly.

My 99 200hp has the second charging post. The service manual shows a battery switch with the second battery being charged by the second post with a separate 50amp fuse or circuit breaker installed as close to the battery as possible. It also states to use a 10 gauge wire for this. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I am just going to use one of the motors to charge the house battery with the aux output. Don't want to take the change on damaging anything on the motor.
