I lost about 6-7 mph but the boat will now run 81 thru anything, well thats a bold statement, almost anything within reason

Wow, I really didn't expect the significant contribution to speed by the setback you had. At least you increased rough water stability, and the boat is built for rough water.

I just upgraded my 250 with 300 promax computers, and I am hoping to hit 76 mph without much effort.

Im trying to figure if I can go back to the increased setback with a hydraulic plate and hopefully if I lower the motor it wont porpoise and run like now and than if I want top speed I can just raise the motor.

What's the difference in setback between both setups, and have you also considered K-planes?

Im not happy with the prop right now, best it ran today was 72.4 and you have to trim it like you see to get that speed, its really squirrely. All in all on a perfect day Id like to see 80, and I think I can once dialed in. An everyday 75 mph boat will do though
is that the bblades blaster?/I'd say more jack[up],less trim!
    why ask me ?
