I bought the boat from Johhny Saris a couple of years ago. He did some work on the transom

Ya I think Johnny and I figured out it wasn't my old boat. My boat wa an original 78 or early 79 Challenger. It was built extremely light to be a race boat. Even had a Balsa core transom.
I blew the transom out of it in 82 or early 83. Sent it back to factory, it was repaired free of charge but came back as a Shadow.(decals)

I believe they were three layers of balsa in transom

...so, the challengers were made for what, three or four years, before the bankruptcy...sound about right? then image/shadow name was incorporated & utilized?
