Hey
I see that none of the challengers pictured so far have the same decal on them. What was the original and/or how many different ones where there. Mine is a remake of the one that was originally on the boat.

Snakebit
I still go there a few times a year, I take my 21' Super and run up and down a few times, I can still see that big Donzi doing laps around the lake. The challenger that you are refering to is a 1977, J.R's was a 1978, I am pretty sure I saw J.R's boat it in a driveway all covered up a few months ago in West Milford NJ.

Hey
Be careful on that thing. Trees and cliffs are a lot less forgiving than the water. Wish I was in the position to do a total restoration of my boat. Did you ever get a idea what that would have cost for yours? Two kids ready for college I have to watch where I dump my cash. I would love mine to look like Linders Challenger.

Hell, I do water with it too
I never really did tally the whole thing up, but it would be quite a bit less than someone else doing it. We bought all the stuff through the marina at distributor prices and some bulk because we needed more at the shop. I drool over linders boat too.Johnny Saris

Hi there Challenger people, this brings back many memories of all things Challenger. There was a guy who had a house on Greenwood Lake, just around the arm from our house, he was a Honda or Toyota dealer from Queens I think, his name was Gene Violla, he had a Blue and white boat with twin 225's, the name of that boat was "Infinity 3". If I am not mistaken George Linder raced that boat a number of times, Gene owned the boat but was not very good at driving it, come to think of it I do not ever remember seeing Gene running it, well Gene also owned at least 3 Challengers, all at the same time, another Blue single engine boat and a beautiful Red boat, also a single, Gene also had a friend with a Brown outboard.
I remember going past Gene's house and seeing one or more of the boats sitting neglected in the water.
Infinity 3 was the first twin Challanger that Philip and I were in, we were both amazed at how steady and stable the twin boat ran as compared to the single boats. I see there is another X Greenwood boater on this thread, as Philip said, "seeing that big Donzi doing laps around the lake" Your dad
"Phil Marc" so did love that big Donzi, nothing would slow him down, lap after lap. Lots of memories.
Philip's better looking identicial Twin brother, Michael.Last edited by mikefili; 12-30-2008 at 05:52 AM.
