Absolutely next time. I'll be back, the guys did great work. I couldn't be happier! Putting the boat in the water in about ten days so we'll see how she runs but I'm sure it'll be an improvement. Give everyone at the shop my best!

Anyone have any thoughts on these new, Hi-Po four stroke racing engines from Mercury? Is there a known line that is too heavy for these 21' weapons? I like my 2.5 but at some point it is going to need to be replaced...

weight is almost the same as a 300xs or etec and people have been running those for a while now

Yeah I guess my concern is whether 505 is the roof or not. A lot of what we are hearing at this point is speculation, but there always seems to be something that adds more weight to newer set ups. Worried that at 550 or 600 we are out of the game with these new engines.

If the transom is healthy it can handle the weight

Not to change the subject here, but I am trying to figure out something that'll help the old windshield on my shadow look better. It's the lexan/ plastic wrap-around style that is quite faded and cracked at this point. I am thinking about painting it since it looks like a bear to remove & replace, just wondering if anyone else has tried anything that works well.

    As always, thanks guys.

22" added the 4" spacers to see how it affects balance, not a permanent set up only testing

Removing it is easy, but getting a new one made can be tough. I had a new reproduction made for my Challenger by a plastic machining place in NJ. Not sure if any forum vendors offer that service. PM if you need more info. I had mine made from clear scratch resistant coated Lexan, but it cost around $600 :-(

I removed the old windshield easily and they used it as a template for the new one.

Thanks tripower, I may send you a PM a little closer to winter. The windshield doesn't bother me too much, and I may just tint it very dark to hide some of the haze.

Another question for you guys (I know, I'm annoying ) I am thinking of adding a faster prop to my quiver now that the guys at Fuller's have this old 2.5 running great. I have a 23 pitch high-five that I use for cruising around with the family, and that is currently on the boat, and I'm thinking of adding something for those weekends where I want to run faster, maybe up at Lake George or just here when the ladies are out of town. The high-five isn't slow, but I was wondering what other options might be good.

This is a Shadow originally built for an inboard, and I've been told that it is somewhat heavier than an outboard hull due to that. Here is a picture of the set-back if that is something that helps. I know it is not going to be possible to pick a prop out of a hat and get it perfect, but I'm far away from anything performance boating related out here on the river, and my options for testing props are extremely limited. So I guys my goal is to find the ballpark, and if I have to buy a couple and resell them to find the right one that's ok, I'm just looking for a good place to start.

Boat has a 2.5 260, and to make this more difficult my speedo doesn't work, I don't have a GPS (yet) and the engine runs past the maximum 7,000 rpm on the tach haha. The hull is notched, which I think is common for Shadows. I appreciate the input guys, if any of you are ever near Pittsburgh let me know, I'll buy ya a beer.

Hey Nick you might want to try a 25 Trophy plus it works well on my boat and we have the same hull.
