The sidewinder project
i bought this boat in 1995. The boat is a 1973 model 14-1/2 footer it had a 65 horse Chrysler boat anchor on the back of it. I did some barter work and came up with the 90 merc you see on it now.
It didn't get used much, weekends on the river, just to get it out of my system.
I sold it in late 06, got it back in Sept. 08. It's time to save it or burn it,so here
we go. I hope i do it justice. will post as i go along.

Does the 14 1/2 have a pad or is it the rounded bottom? Rick

This one is rounded, i have a 1975 18 foot sidewinder that has a pad. Once the floor is
out and and stringers checked and strengthened I am going to flip it, blueprint the hull
and try building a pad.

Hi Denny, cool to see you fixing up the 14'. I'm guessing you or someone else added the pad on the 18 ? Have you checked out the Sidewinder site ? Love to see pics over there, too.

Thanks sspeed.
I dont know about the pad on the 18', I purchased it for the motor, it has a 1975 merc
150 on it that is going on the 14'. It looked as if the pad was factory. Do you know if Sidewinder built them with pads? I'll get a better look at it once it is de rigged. I'll get
some pics of that boat as well. Not sure what I'm going to do with the 18.
Where is the Sidewinder site you spoke of, is it on this board.

I have never heard of an 18 with a factory pad, only a rounded keel. I have however, heard of many 14's with a factory delta shaped pad. www.sidewinder-boats.com Hope it is OK to post another site...

Good day to
Cut the floor out, I was surprised how much water was in there. Still got some trimming
to do. Think I'll run two more stringers on the outside strakes for strength and make knee stringers to tie the transom to the hull.

Good advice
Talked to Joe Merton from Merton's fiberglass Supply, about fiberglass repair.
Joe is a strait up front person. He took time to explain the how too's and don'ts
of glass rep. Told me what I needed and didn't try to over sell product to me.
Give him a call 800-333 0314 or www.mertons.com

Sidewinder Project
I just went through this and have a really nice finished one. My wife tells me I have too many boats some have to go.
Let me know you might find buying mine (Canadain dollars) is much chaper option. I sunk about 5k into it I will not get that for the boat and trailer.
Built it for my kids, but we purchased a ski boat instead (too small)

hey denny, i dont got any at this time il try to get some soon mabee this weekend. iv got the floor and transom out on mine. the **** kicker for me is the last person to do the transom cut out the back or something and it all cracked after they did it all. so im sittin with a boat with no floor or transom or fiberglass back. Iv got the boat suported right and wont let it be out of shape when it comes time to put the transom back in thats for sure.
