Splash well cut out and ready to cut out the wood.
Another pic
This is question I have about this patch job I found. It was glassed over but hollow inside. It was full of water. No core in there what so ever in there. Anyone want to take a guess as in why its there?
Someone poor attempt to strengthen the stringers. (See how there screwed together)
Transom after I clean it up a bit. I did find some more holes. about 6 more holes. Located near the middle of the transom. One had a bolt threw it? The others were sealed with silcon and wood. I wonder why they were there (Also found the stern eyes, someone had cut off for some reason, Half of it is still in the transom)

It looks like someone attempted a repair. Maybe they tried to add a stringer to the original one and also cut a test hole in the core. Clearly the repair job was not of the high quality variety. Glad to see some progress.

Fieldzy, I suspect you will soon give up asking why PO's did dumb stuff. The good part of that is that YOU got the boat for a reasonable amount ( prolly due to their idiocy) and now it will be done RIGHT!
Good to see progress, keep plugin away!OK, I got down off the porch and ran with the big dogs....kinda sore now....think I'll just lay here in the flowerbed for a while...

Looks good. Kinda hard to work on something in the cold. Thank god for Tim Hortons!!!!
I'll be doing the same too to my rig soon. I am actually working on the motor. Its warmer in the garage.
How long did it take you approximately, hour wise, to strip the whole inside down???1987 Valero CDN Edition, Johnson 150 GT, Hauled 65 mph first outing with new set-up

haha, Warmer here now so I have been working alot more I would suggest you grind outside. Everytime a grind here and there the whole boat gets filled with glass dust and I have to wash it out every now and then(Good thing the glass doesn't make me itch) . I got to pick up my motor soon Well im not sure on hours wise, I started in the begining of jan, Working after school every other day for 3 hours, Then plus the weekends maybe 5 hours? Im pretty slow so it takes me longer then most people . Im sure you will have more work then me, My boat doesn't have that much core in it. Brandon"Brandon Field"
