Pics of My 3 Liter Engine cowl/cover makeover

kind of going thru the boat slowly piece by piece cleaning it up and changing things, updating, fixing the small petty stuff... acquired the boat used in August

there were one or two gouges in the cover from the previous owner.... and the graphics were too stock looking and generic i thought...

had a friend of mine that owns a body shop repaint everything with a base and UV clear

had Panorama signs in copiague do the graphics.... dropped it off and told him just do whatever... make it look clean, simple, and sharp and i kind of was preffering just MERC lettering rather than mercury.

I was very pleased with the results, here's what they came up with

at the same time, i also read on the forum about putting 1/2" spacers under the louver to raise it for a slight ram air effect and cutting the air baffle inside the cowl a little to enhance air flow... so pics show the louver raised also

Thought i'd share some pics with u guys

Well done on the cowl dude - looks very sweet.

I looked at the standard red and rellow graphics on mine and decided they really, really didn't go with my boat, so I designed a new graphic for the sides and the front, and my painter did the rest. Mercury on the sides, Merc on the front

looks great! Should have put a piston flying out of the cowl instead of bullet holes.......
