Recent run Etec 150HO on BassCat Sabre, 68.5 GPS

Here is my pic of my recent run.

    Air Temp: 48-50°
Full Tournament Load with empty livewells
    Running Solo
    Prop below pad, 3.5"
    3/4 Full Trim

After learning how to run at WOT on this little rocket I added a Fury 24P prop and could feel the surge and lift to hit some very impressive numbers with my boat. I feel I will run possibly faster when I get my worked Blue Printe Raker II back. I can honestly say this boat is keeping up with with the 175ProXs motors out there with similar setups and GPS speeds. Check it out!

Can any BRP guys out there explain why HO is so hot/fast? What is the significance of the lower unit on the HO's? I am not a mechanic. I am a very happy enthusiast!

It is pritty simple realy.. The lower lighting unit (on the HO modles) is narrrower then the standard lower leg, giving a big reduction in drag through the water.. On top off that the gear ratio is usualy a bit taller in the HO's also... It all adds up for awesome WOT performance....

They were doing some assemble of the Tohutsu derived models, when we were there, but no more than 15 people on that line, and I could be over exaggerating by half.
They do the absolute minimium to qualify as a constructor, but they have read the rules very carefully, and take some serious advantage of them

I don't have a clue who you've met in Belgium, but being a Belgian I must react on this. We have several engine specialist here who do far more than just changing carbs, repainting cowls and changing decals.

Example : Van Ackeleyn is well-know to deliver quality tuned engines all over the world. He's official european dealer for all Mercury standard or racing products and accessories... and probably the best Mercury tuner in Europe if you ask me ! http://www.merc-racing.com/
So put Belgium back on that list.

besides this, I found this a very nice thread!
feelin' bit offended and patriotic, T.

Merc guys.... When will you face the facts that evinrude is finally back again? Don't get me wrong merc has made some killer motors over the years. It took many evinrudes kicking merc butt for merc to catch up. When merc finally did catch evinrude they kicked their ass but the pendulum again has swung my friends. Just wait until someone makes modes for the rude, then we will hear some whining... Aka excuses.

I don't think BRP should be concerned with the mercs, they better watch the japs. We all know the new sho yammis will beat anything out there. Merc is the old grandpa now with a good, strong line up of motors. Seems they are working more on reliability with the big hp motors, and less on speed. But don't be fooled, grandpa can be fast if he wants to be.... I like the new rudes and it would be good to have them do well.

Toffy, he is referring to the Mercury facility in Belgium, not the country as a whole.
