Charger Performance Outboard Boats?
Do any of you run a Charger boat? Looking at a 17 footer (probably mid 1980's vintage). It's set up nice with a jack plate, foot throttle and wheel trim but has not seen water in a while. Don't have a model name yet but was hoping for some more background on this manufacturer.
Any one have a good data source (or feedback/information) for these older Charger boats?

Is it a Canadian built Charger? They made 16 and 18 foot V bottoms in the 80's. Could it be one of those? They looked like scaled down Challenger 21's.

David, you might be correct. It does look like a scaled down Challenger 21. Thanks for the input.

There are the Charger SK (tank in the front) and the DL from the 80's with the rail down the center of the deck.

If it is an orgininal Canadian Charger, up to 88 I think, it's a nice boat. The company was trained to build a higher level boat by Geoge Linder. That was because they made the Canadian Challenger 21. So the first few years had balsa core boats that raced ModVP until the STV came along. The Charger DL did everything better than the Hydrostream, just a mile or two short on the top. The company is gone today, but you can still get a new crapy version of the boat (don't bother). Great history.
