Did you Glass a flange on the old lowers for the Alien to bolt up to? Might want to do a final layer with epoxy instead of poly/vinyl ester. Those old lowers are a BMC/Compression Molded thermoset. For cracks Poly/vinyl ester works ok but for structural work/repairs I've experienced failures to bond to that material even when roughed up with 36 grit. Epoxy's and urethanes bond well to it however.

yeah , basicly i cut about 3"of the stock lowers.then i set the pan on it with a little putty to hold it to work.next i cut out the inside of the alian pan tabbed it in with glass on the inside.on the outside i blended the two together with a ahair stran putty ,faired it out . now i`ll put a 1/2 oz mat or something on the out side to keep from cracking fair that and paint . so far about 6 hrs into it,thats with kids saying come here dad and the phone ringing.oh yeah made the pan about 1/2"taller to clear to of fly wheel cover or just take it off. oh yah thanks for the help earlier on hoods got this one for my uncle and well i adapted to my needs

nice job fellas!! wish i had seen this! altho, ven if i did, i dont have the patience or know-how to glass up the conversion.

i just stripped my 3 liter hood cowl and lowers and had them repainted and dropping it off tomorrow for some graphics.

mine ios a 3.0l 250EFI Offshore... the graphics were stupid boring and slow looking

can't beat the looks of an alien cowl tho, wish it was alot easier to get one onto mine otherwise i would have done that in a heartbeat
