Speed Coat does not work. You want a slightly rough surface that traps the "Boundary Layer" next to the surface and gives you Laminar Flow.

re ad something about a sandblast finish on props v's high polish to reduce drag? sounds possible. ive got a prop with some blast finish on trailing edges.. have to research more.

rain-x is some great stuff, thought it was just some bogus product untill i tryed it.

Dang, how does Speed Cote get away with the false advertising that it works?

Same way that $50+ bottle of Prevagin [made from jellyfish] is advertised to rejuvenate your brain, the problem is that it is broken down by stomach acid and the FDA says it has no effect. We used to try speedcote and silicone on our waterskis when I was a kid [back in dinosaur days]….

Reggie Fountain shared he used Ham grease on his boats.

I would say anything that repels water would be key. As far as I have tried, Rejex does not let water stand and will not allow the molecules to attach.

I removed the bottom paint on my SeaRay 290 and picked up 3 mph on the GPS... I have left the bottom scuffed at 400 Grit since you really cannot tell other than the sheen if you look closely.

Smoked ham grease more specifally. Think about how many guys actually believed this, and were out under their boats, doing this afterwards.

OMG... when I think about it, I wonder if Reggie used a specific brand of Smoked Ham. I am sure it was not a Honey Baked Smoked ham.
    What do you think?
