I was reading on OSO about the new Sutphens coming out... a 21, 27 and 31 footer, you can read the thread here: http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...d.php?t=195528

I hope I am allowed to paste that link, if not I apologize.

I believe Sutphen boats are still being built in Cape Coral Fl. The website is still active at: http://www.sutphenpowerboats.com/

I think I remember reading that the interiors were being made at PPI in Sarasota FL.

Not sure if they are being built in the Northeast or in Florida. I edited my post as I was reading that someone thought they were being built in the northeast, but I am not sure. Don't want to mislead anyone. They will be at the Norwalk Boat Show this weekend, Sept. 18-21st

Yes, they are still being built in Florida. They have only built 2 21's so far, but they have tweaked hulls and new decks. The ont in the pics above ran 69.7 GPS with a 350 mag! The 21ssx w/496 HO will be over 80 mph.

There are two Sutphen boat companies. The father builds the larger boats and Rich Sutphen Jr. is building the smaller boats 21-31 feet. Both boat companies are in Florida. These pics are of the "higher" performance 21 SSX...both boats are at the Norwalk boat show in CT...

I had a 17 foot low profile with a 150 merc on it along with my fathers Donzi Spitfire, they were probally the best boats we ever owned.

This is true about 2 companies that build the boats. Rich Jr was building them in NJ for while that is were I went to see the boat. I guess he decided to move down South.
They really build a very nice boat with great attention to detail!
The boat is also priced very fair for what you get

It's very cool how they kept the "classic" old school Sutphen look and incorporated it into the new smaller design!
