Interesting reading....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tire_companies
Maxxis= Tiewam
LT's load D single axle, C double would be my choice.
Most tire company's now designate the LT as a "light truck/trailer tire"

When you're pulling a light boat you can get away with a lot more. When I pulled my old boat on a single axle I had problems keeping a C rated tire together and it was only 18ft.

Gotcha. Well I know that Dodge makes plenty of power to pull it as fast as you want.

I run Carlisles on my STV tandem axle trailer. Put them on 5 or 6 years ago and they are still going strong.
When I bought my Scarab, I put the same Carlisles on all three axles. Blew two the first trip. They dry rotted quickly and I think it's just a load/weight thing.
I have since replaced them with Greenball Transmaster radials from Discount Tire. No problems since.Keith-

I ran 185/75R14 Hankook Mileage plus tires on my single axle trailer when I had the 16ft....never a problem.
I plan on running 4 of them on the trailer im making for my new-to-me 21ft... I prefer to run "car tires" on my trailer, they seem to age better and as long as you dont exceed their weight capacity and keep them above 35lbs they will hold up very nicely...Last edited by OJwerks; 05-18-2012 at 04:07 PM.

I went to Big O tires here about 3 weeks ago and asked if there was any American made tires left? They replied yes that Coopers where still made here in the U.S. Back in the day they were a damn good tire I don't know about now. Just a thought guys.

Don't know about their trailers tires, but our fleet vans (electrical co.) run Coopers due to my boss being buddies and trading service for service with the tire store manager... They are by far and away the worst tires I have ever seen... Haven't had one go over 25,000 miles yet without the belt letting go, and out of seven vans they all have damaged fenders due to tire failures... There's always someone coming over the radio saying they have tire problems and need help... I've seen some passenger tires with OK results but plenty without good results too... In the field of 3/4-1ton vehicles, I have zero confidence based on the past 10 years with this company...
