Stainless prop polishing
What do you guys use to polish your stainless props? I have a Mercury prop on my Bravo 1 that is starting to look dull.

Flitz. It's the best polish I've found for stainless, aluminum, etc, etc. It's not always the easiest to find retail, but you can buy it factory direct. I get it by the can.

It takes buffing wheels and wax-based solid abrasives to really polish up a prop.
You can also wet-sand, and use ANY good liquid metal polish by hand (flitz, blue magic, or wheel polish / chrome polish, etc) and it will look decent:
The sandpaper goes dull almost instantly. Keep it really wet, don't skip any grit stages, or you'll still see the sanding marks as you go to finer grits. You'll probably start with 400, then 600, 800, 1000, 1500, then 2000. You'll likely need a whole pack of each grit to do it right.
Stay off the edges of the prop. If you dull down the square-cut edges, it can slow you down.
If you search for "prop polishinig", there's probably a dozen threads where this topic has already been discussed in great detail. There's almost a decade of archived forum threads here.'89 Hydrostream Vegas XT, '90 Merc 2.4 Bridgeport PCU EFI
