Pretty damn close. I'm changing out a few chrome pieces for stainless and some sheet metal screws for machine screws/nylocks. The gel looks better than the pictures.

I know the weight is better in the back but it only seats 5 and no way to watch a skier. It only holds 25 gallons which is usually about a day and a half. My Baker has side tanks, 18x2 which easly gets me through 2 days. It seats 6 and the passenger seat swivels 180 for ski observing. I may set up a swivel on the seat because that is a big problem but the tank will stay like it is untill winter. The other option is to get through this summer and set it up with the 2 jump seats for the "seats 7" and observe from a jump seat. I really like the swivel passenger seat though.

Dave's Sebring is an awsome ride and very easy to drive. I jumped in took a couple laps easing it up a bit at a time and watchin the speedo climb. When I got it aired out it felt very solid, very nice ride on the bumps. My Baker on the other hand needs to be driven when it's up. Don't get me wrong I love driving but the Baker with a 220 "fishing motor" only went 70. I'm not sure how much I would like it at 90. It felt pretty light on the water. I expect the my Lavey will be somewhere in between. I don't know how you pad vee guys do it. I'm too old to be dealing with chine walk at those numbers.

    03 Lavey Craft 20'8" Sebring

I posted as a 2003 but it is a 1993. Is so clean I lost track of time

I just bought this boat out of AZ from the second owner. He has had it since 1998. Has a fresh JSRE 260 on it with about 15Hrs. I talked with Shauna at LC and she sent me the build sheet on this boat. She told me her husband did the Gell on this boat when it was new. Also posted a couple photos. Should be leaving AZ today and be in NH on monday.

Welcome to the family Steve! Glad you found one. That is a familiar boat

Last I talked to him it was still in break-in phase, so let us know how it runs now.

I forget how good looking the Laveys are, The custom manufacturing shows.
I hope you have good luck with a Drag motor on a heavy boat. My 260 was a horn motor with a 1" spacer, higher compression and porting. If you have the money you can keep it running. Check the torque on the lowerunit bolts often. A couple of mine vibrated out and I broke the tail off of the mid section. The loctited upper bearing cap screws backed off into the $800 fly wheel.
If you have problems I would go for a 300XS of 300 E-tec. Just keeping the RPM below 6500 is the main factor. Harmonics on a 2.5 can be a bitch. Rebuilds (Re-Ring) every 100-200 hours was a factor also.

Has anyone run a 20.8 with a 300 yet? I'd still like to see some speed numbers for that setup.
