That's not a real person. It's a spam bot. Look at the commercial link in the signature. Look at his 10 posts. They are all generic and lacking in real content. "Nice boat", etc. I will report the fake account.

Sebring Trailers...
I have a 20.2 and plan to restore boat to a respectable level this Spring...this includes the trailer. Mine is a tandem axle with 14" wheels. Is there any problem with changing to 15" wheels? Seems to me 15's are more common, especially when I start looking for trailer tires.
also thinking of installing a winch and bumper and no longer use the static rod on front.Best regards,
David

Common to go to 15" wheels and a lower profile tire to get them to fit under the fenders properly. I think the front support is a good idea. I had to patch my trailer because the whole front from the start of the taper was cracking. All of the later ones had the support. Look at some pictures in this thread.

Mine has the support you mention, but have a rust area starting where two pieces of steel meet. Planing on cutting out that cancer and installing brace. This is what I do (mechanical design) and just need to get off my rear and do it.

My brother has a 1991 18ft laveycraft mod v tunnel really good looking boat he recently powered it with a1993 2.4ltr mercury xri 200 with 220 Lazer heads and computer super pretty motor 10 inch set back sportmaster lower unit tried numerous props and still only running 67 were coming from flat bottom boats and just not really thinking this is all it has looking for a little bit better performance. we were wondering if this was just not a fast hull or if the hull has potential or what was going on? boat is super pretty motor runs strong but we're just not happy if we cant get our numbers up may have to sell this pretty thing lol..we hear of the 2I footers that are doing eighties and nineties how come the 18 won't ?

Smiley, I'm pretty sure you learned from the other discussion that there was no 2.4 after 1991, and there are no unique "220 Laser" heads, as they used the same heads as the other late 2.4 200 EFI's, which were the same exact motor as the wishfully-rated "Laser 220" XRi.
I used to have one of them. They're decent motors.
Get that bad boy raised higher, verify the tach settings, and check the timing and compression.Last edited by pyro; 01-31-2015 at 02:11 PM.

I know bro i typed wrong while driving in a hurry, sorry about that ..I am getting all info from the mechanic right now word for word because motor is still under warranty with him.we're not really trippin on the motor we were just curious as to if these hulls have the potential to go fast or not..not exactly sure of the year of the motor I just know that it's a 200XRI supposably converted to 220.waiting for all details and info now..I also know that there is no unique 220 laser either.were in process of raising motor now so in next couple days welle see.once again guys thank you so much for all the knowledge. .

Correct. There's no such thing as "converting it to a 220" because it's the same motor. You can get a tiny bit more bottom-end grunt from shaved heads, and you can get a "few" more HP from gutting the on-board EFI system in favor of a less-convenient pump in the boat with a return line, due to getting cleaner airflow into the intake. This would amount to maybe a 1 or 2 mph gain. Hardly worth messing with.
There's MUCH more potential for performance gains once you get the setup optimized-- Motor height, lower unit, and props. It has a HUGE impact.'89 Hydrostream Vegas XT, '90 Merc 2.4 Bridgeport PCU EFI
