Sweet drive Dave and nice air! I didn't know a "cake mixer" could do that. I thought it was just us "egg beaters" that see sky and prey the horizon comes up the right way. Did you get the sporty lower?
I'll post a pic of my new Lavey...as soon as it gets here and I get it wet. It's the one that just sold on ebay, Sebring 20.5 with a 280. That should remove the 70mph restrictor my Baker RST had on me.
Two boats for me too...
96 Cougar 23 MTR twin 300XS's. 100 something
98 Laveycraft Sebring 20.2 Tunnel 280 90 something SOLD
85 Baker RST 220 Laser SOLD

Thanks Bob!
Yeah for a ktchen aid with a small block she's seen a bit of air time.
Yes I got the Sportmaster lower. (why not go all the way at that level right? )
However - it cost me at least 3MPH- seems to be common, not sure if its a hydrodynamic thing or a new tight gear thing.

Here ya Go
2000 225 H.O.
Best GPS with the H.O. 84.3 ...29" SRX By DAH reworked for more bowlift, 6300-6400 Stock lower, no nose cone
Best GPS with a modified 260 Merc 94.7 ...260 merc ported and a few other tricks 26" Chopper reworked for a Shadow bass boat for more bow lift, It was 5 years ago or more, Im gonna guess 7800 RPM, I dont recall broke the propshaft that day and lost the borrowed prop
Runs consistant 80-83 mph ... The biggest thing with these boats is not enough bow lift, Nose cones kill them. But if you have enought weight in the back (and H.P.) they will run well.(like a big block I.O.) when I first put the 225H.O. on the boat I thought "Man this thing loves the extra weight in the back". It handeled so much more like my old Hydrostream.
Then I borrowed a coned lowerunit. It was like throwing a anchor over and towing it. Acceleration sucked, top speed was 3-4 mph slower.
You really cant jack the motor high enough to warrent a cone because it looses bow lift and leaverage to free it up.
The one possible exception is a big diameter Bravo 1 prop with a coned lower. According to Stoker it will then like the motor jacked up enough to get the lower unit drag lower without loosing bow lift.
By the way my 28 stock Raker is only about 1-1/2 mph slower than my best blue printed prop. When you have to run your motor lower it just doesnt make a huge difference.L.T.

Get in The back!
Notice my Wifes location (sorry Honey)
This will add speed and you will get to top end much sooner.
We had a really fun ride last week, I have a 26 Predator 4 blade reworked by DAH that tops out just under 80MPH. Its a great ski prop with 7 pepole in the boat.
We had 4 adults in the boat and three kids . we hit abot 75MPH with alot of weight in the boat. It was a Blast.L.T.

Thanks Uncle Dave. That sounds pretty expensive and complex for me to pick up 10 MPH safely. Maybe I'll just stick with the Stock setup and steering and buy an STV to go fast! I'll keep the Lavey for skiing.
As far as weight distribution. If I run a 27" mirage prop I have to put about 20 Lbs of weight in the nose to eliminate porpoise at 75MPH on glass water. This prop gets me 82 at 5200 RPM. I also have a 26" Hydromotive 3 blade that doesn't porpoise and gets out of the hole quicker no weight need up front. It runs 79 at 5300RPM.
Keep in mind I have 1200 Lbs of engine and outdrive in the back. But most of it is in front of the transom.

Here are 2 YT videos of a 20.8 Sebring (the BIG one) running. Looks like a decent set up.

Maybe a different animal....But
When I hade the G-Force Merc on the back with the cone lift was a bitch. When I first got the boat it had a Yamacopy. These props dont have a lot of bowlift. The best I could get out of it was 91.7 GPS. With two pepole in the front seats I could only get 80MPH with a nasty porpoise. It would never get full lift. As soon as I put my passenger in the back I could get past the 80MPH porpoise and 90 plus with two pepole wasnt a problem. Some times porposing is just a symtom of not enough bow lift. I would try taking out the weight and running a Bravo 1 or round ear chopper. You may have already done that. Thats a hell of alot of weight back there . It may be a different animal completly. I would love to have the boat and four or five props to try
Good luckL.T.

Sharp
I think Ive seen a pic of that one before. If it were only as fast as it looked. Thats one of the sharpest looking boats ever made.

BEAUTIFULL ride....
It also looks like it has the same cloth interior I had.
That was incredibly cool - in the dessert.
When I towed my 20.8 to Chicago one year just to trty out the Fox river crowd. (I grew tired of all the "chin music" from my buds from Chicago who all had 100 mPH boats the couldnt crack 70 in person)
I found that in a humid environment the cloth interior flat didnt work at all.
Its changed now to vinyl and has the newer LCP logos on it - looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.
