91 MPH 175 Pro XS Venom
I started a thread at the start of the year, that we were trying to see if we could get to 85 mph with a 175 pro x s on a venom. We tried several different props and lower units, we tried several engine heights, and we are excited to bring the results to you, 91 MPH with a stock engine, we did send the lower unit to Titus to do his magic, and it has a lab prop on it, but we will be able to sell an affordable, fast boat, with a 3 year factory engine warranty, that is very fuel efficient.

I guess that puts to rest the argument about the 175XS not having enough power. And goes to show how important setup is. Good job!

You know, we were concerned with speed we never really computed the fuel economy, to an exact number, all of my references to fuel economy are taken from Mercury's website, I have got a fuel flow meter that I will install on it, and post the results so I can reference real hard data on fuel economy, Sorry, my bad.

Did you put solid mounts on it? After market nosecone?
The Mercury guys at the Toronto boat show told me that they would not honor the warranty for any gearcase or heat related powerhead problems on a 175XS with a nosecone.
