Red face Anybody had anything like this happen?

Well I decided to put a radio in my Mirage. Radio, speakers, cover, and all needed parts come in Wednesday. Decide to go ahead and start installin the new toys last night. Got the drill, the jigsaw, marker, and other tools out. Went through a deep thinkin process... Do I really want to start cuttin and drillin holes in my boat??? The response "Hell yea lets do it" Well I lay in the left sponson, mark off the 6x9, and drill a hole in the center so I could start my cut. All pumped and ready to start cuttin into the boat I grab the jigsaw and get ready to start sawin. Put the blade in the hole, pull the trigger, start the first cut, and what do you know.... The damn saw has a crack down the side of it... Well that cancelled that thought. As a couple folks said, "maybe the boat dont like the idea of you cuttin holes in it". Na I think the ol saw had just had it. Owell looks like a trip down to good ol home depot then get the courage to saw back into that bad boy again.

Might have to grab a bottle of crown for this go round.

When something like that happens to me I take it as a sign. I will start looking and usually find where something was going to go wrong if I kept going.

my saber saw is a craftsman made in the late 50s or early 60s, the body is cast aluminum. it might be heavy, unwieldy, and give the occasional shock, but its a tough sum bisch.

I have demolished several of the cheap plastic black and deckers, the case doesnt have the meat to hold the gears together. I imagine a more expensive plastic one would hold up better tho, but I like my antique.

After waiting 8 years for a set of swim steps for my Vegas to show up for sale, I got them and they don't fit the XT's stern, this set was made for the V-hulls. My boat didn't want me to drill holes in it (her)

When I cut the old floor out of my boat I ran the skill saw a little too deep in a spot and had a nice little 12 inch cut threw the bottom. It had to be glassed anyway.

One piece of advice....when your'e done, your'e not supposed to see the back of the speakers from the outside of the boat!

when I first started reading thats what I expected he was going to say. Bro, if you sawed through your boat to install a speaker, might as well just set it ablaze and never say a word, because you would never live it down.

I guess he cut out the right stuff, cause hes had it on the river the last two days and it hasnt took on any water besides the rain. I think i was more nervous than him when he started cuttin the boat and all i was doin was watching.
