    link n sync

    Have an '85 evinrude 2.6xp (235) V6
Have a seloc manual which sucks. Dosent show details on link n sync. In fact, dosent even show which mark on throttle cam to align carb roller to...

What is a good manual to show link n sync detail for this motor?

Im just trying to set the mark on the throttle cam to the correct mark (first mark or second mark). Im not sure if its the first mark or second.

I have done work on other evinrudes ie a 125 and a 140 where my book for those was specific and indept with good pictures..

.. I know about setting the mark right as the throttle butterflies are supposed to open, but this SELOC manual is so broad in its descriptions, that it dosent show my specifics..

I also want to set the timing at idle, then go from there.

    From the factory 84 manual:

"While rotating the throttle cam, the first embossed mark on the cam that contacts the cam follower should align with the centre of the cam follower as the tip of the amplifier begins to move."

I think the timing is supposed to be set with a club prop when the boat is tied to the trailer. Start the engine and let it warm up. Disconnect the throttle cable. Put the boat in gear and advance the timing with the timing arm while checking with a light.

Edit: I misread, thought you meant max timing.
