Prop help? - 1988 Hydrostream Voodoo
Hey guys i have a 1987 hydrstream voodoo (260 lbs) with a 1988 50hp longshaft mariner.
Currently running a (10 3/8"dia x 18" pitch) cupped stainless chopper, takes a while to plane.
Looking for something with a bit better hole shot.
Any prop suggestions? Pitch?
Thanks.

18" small diameter through hub Mercury cleaver. The bigger diameter ones won't let it turn enough RPM. The 18" chopper is a great top ender but hard to plane.

Lots of $$$
Part # 48-891506A03 (11"dia x 18" pitch) Retails for about $780 USD. Another thing that seems to help the holeshot, is getting weight of of the ass end of the boat. I run a garden tractor battery as opposed to a regular full sized marine battery. I also see you have the motor on the transom. I had HydroDynamics make me a 3-1/2" setback, with zero lift built into it in the lowest position which effectively lowered the motor and worked well.Last edited by XSive; 06-18-2008 at 09:56 PM.
