Sea rayder 1994
This jet boat is a modest performer at best and quick enough for me at the moment, paid $2500 for it. At planing speed it runs reasonnable. At low speed it sounds rough like a steel bucket with nails. Boat is not chugging but the motor or jet sounds uneven and not happy. Is this normal for this vintage or can I expect probs with the jet drive..?

I have a '98 F16R Sea Rader with 175 Merc Sportjet. I don't recall any pump noise with it, but some of the SeaDoos I've had have had jet rattle in them from new, and dealer said normal. By biz partner had a little Jazz jetboat with a 90 horsepower Farce powerhead and if I remember right it had some pump rattle also.
