280 problem
my 280 has started acting up, it idles ok and holeshot is ok but if i give it over half throttle, it startes to surge or cut back could my fuel pump be getting weak? any suggestions.

i had a similiar issue above 6k and it ended up being a spark plug wire. if it's a fuel pressure issue where the pump can't keep up, you will notice it when you mash the petal and the boat planes. it would then fall on it's face if it's a pump issue. if you have a dvm check the voltage on each coil through the spark plug wire. 1 volt difference can cause this problem.

My guess would be fowled fuel injectors..Will cause big end lackluster performance due to flooding...( rich condition )

Look at your water psi switch in the ecu! You have a water psi gage?

thanks guys ill check these tommorrow.skydog where is the switch? are u talking about the water pressure gauge in the dash? any other suggestions?

Just follow the water line coming out of block one will go to a switch and the wires will run to the ecm.
