    Cat,Tunnel hull,Pickle fork, Hull Manufactures?

Hello and hoping someone can answer my Questions? I'm in the process of doing my homework on 18 to 20 ft. Tunnle Hull boats. This is my next hull design I would like to purchase. Can anyone list the manufacturers from best to worst? I know of Cougar,Eliminator, and Liberator boats and that's all. My last boat was a 2001 21 ft. Baja Hammer with a 454 thur hull exhaust which I just sold. It was sweet but would like to get back into the outboard scene.

    Mod Tunnels

    1-Quartershot
2- STV also built new by Quartershot
    3-STV built by Wally
4- Mirage built by Brad Collins 97 or older
    5- Mirage newer than 97
    6- Liberator

This is my opinion on the 18'-19' range

If you wanted bigger then like you mentioned Cougar, Eliminator

There's plenty of choices out there already listed. Do you homework on the rig you're looking to purchase and if I've learned anything from the buyer's side it's take a ride in each boat you're thinking about. You'll be glad you did. In my opinion, I love my Mirage's and STV's

22 Talon, made in your neighbourhood Bigger and better in rough water, and good for 100+ with a 300XS.

Sub 20' pickle, an STV would work for me.

Yup, Al,does build an awsome boat. Stokers were my first exposure to tunnel hulls Definately worth looking into. Again, take a ride in or test drive the boats you are interstd in purchasing as I mentioned before

Vegas XT w/250XS, also available in your neighbourhood, would be a sound choice.

Thanks everyone. As I said, never really looked into a tunnel before, now I can do my homework on those boats mentioned. Thanks again to all that posted. Dave.

the most popular of the tunnels in the 18-20 ft range are the quartershot, stv, and mirage. Randy also makes a great running liberator 18 and he also has the best looking liberators in the 21 ft range. It is going to be hard to get a truly unbiased answer from the owners of each since most everyone here loves their boats and bought them for a reason.

My best advice to you is look through the galleries, threads like the recent "river ranch pictures" thread, or even better, come out to an event and see the boats in person, you might even get a ride or two. Find one you like and start asking questions. there are pros and cons to all but all in that list above are great running boats.

You might also want to start a list of your needs. For example, if you need a 4 seater, that narrows the list and the stv euro will probably bump to the top. If you want a center steer, the choices will be different, if you are looking the truly top end numbers that will bump another up, if you are going to drag race and only need a single seater, it is hard to argue with the results and quickness andy driver has been getting from his quartershot t-2. What kind of water do you boat in, what do you need, how much experience do you have over 100mph, are you looking new or used...etc?

BTW, welcome to scream and fly.
