    300 xs throttle adjustment

    Hi guys,
I have a 2007 Mercury 300XS I recently found out that I was not getting full throttle.
I have already adjusted the foot throttle end as far as possible
How do you go about adjusting the linkage at the engine?
Do you have to take off the lower cowl?
    Any help would be appreciated
I have included a picture the throttle cable is the top brass one.
    Thanks Erich

Here is the current full throttle

Here is where it stops on the motor factory stop

by the looks of it my may have the control or hotfoot set up wrong. there should be multiple connection's for the tip of the cable.. check it out , your problem should be up front..

I may be wrong but if the hotfoot is now adjusted as far as it can go, could you flick that linkage holder off and wind the plastic nut on the brass cable end to give more throttle but also check with a ddt to see if the computer is registering 100% throttle, if not adjust ackordingly.
Also the nylock nut on the end of the throttle cable (where it attaches to the throttle arm) should be a little loose.
