On my racing engine, I use light flywheel, but today, the magnet for timing(not charging), is dead!!!
Have you a solution to change it.It seem it is the same like std flywheel...
    thanks by advance

Is this the Gold flywheel? If so call or p.m. Al Stoker. He's a Supporting Vender on this site & can probably help you.

Is that a real Champ motor? I can see that the mid is a 12'' but how about the powerhead? Cool boat!

jm your english is very good!
I can't find his email & I understand he don't like to get them anyway. If you ask for his email on scream & fly I'm sure someone has it & will tell you.
If no one has given it to you by noon tomorrow & call him for you and try to get it or at least see if he has what you need. I'll then let you know what he told me.

This will save your phone bill$$$$

Alan is "racer" here on the board. Try sending a private message.

What you have to do is remove the magnet and replace with one salvaged from a production flywheel. I believe the resin is just epoxy. Mild heat should soften. But don't get it too hot or the magnetism goes away. So practice technique on the bad magnet on your race wheel.

There are epoxy solvents if you have access to industrial chemicals. Paint remover containing methylene chloride will probably work. Slowly.

Also - If you disassemble the race flywheel, be certain to mark the pieces so you can reassemble in exactly the same configuration. Use paint or indelible marking pen, no scratch or punch marks. Be careful with the bolts in the outer ring, some may be different lenghts to achieve proper balance. So keep track of which bolt came from each hole until you verify they are equal.

It would be rare for the magnet on the sensor to go bad, how did you check it? I might have one but will not be able to check until next tuesday.
